Mask is the art of combining sculptures, paintings, costumes, sounds, motions and stories in order to create a living character.

There is countless types and variations of masks and they are present in almost every civilization, from African rituals to Americans superheros. They answer the fundamental human need of giving shapes and life to one’s inner creatures. The Mask Collective was created to explore this subject, at the intersection of contemporary culture, ethnology and participatory creation. It gathers artists and curators aiming for experimentation and dissemination of mask cultures. New medias are at the heart of the project thanks to the use of Digital Masks.
